(北美唯一本土干果）美国山核桃主要分布于美国加利福利亚州 奇科--奥兰多到贝克斯菲尔德一带地区，以及像南一带延伸到圣地亚哥地带，其余零散分布于加州东南部沙漠地带。根据过去五年产量显示，加州位列14个产美国山核桃州的第七。
